“Church History is the record of God's gracious, wonderful and mighty deeds, showing how by His Spirit and Word He rules His Church and conquers the world.”
Nils Forsander,
"Without understanding the past, we are unable to understand ourselves, for in a sense the past still lives in us and influences who we are and how we understand the Christian message."
Our Culture
The Center for African-American Church History & Research (CAACHR) is dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of those who have etched an enriching history in our veins. At the same time, we are committed to using the power of history to continue the outstanding legacy of the African-American church culture to enrich lives. Our culture is lived through four elements of our values:
Mutual Respect
We appreciate the knowledge, experience and expertise of those who contribute, and work to construct relationships built upon trust.
Collaboration
Our best results are achieved when we work with diverse populations and embrace various perspectives and skill sets which strengthen our objective in preservation of the African-American church.
Innovation
We strive to embrace new ideas and concepts which will help to inform and bridge multi-generational boundaries.
One CAACHR
We are an organization of collaborators with a shared purpose: fulfilling CAACHR's mission and vision.
